Amdahl’s Law states that the maximum speedup of any system is limited by the fraction of the system you have not improved.
Here is what that means in plain language.

Teams with heavy AI coding adoption are merging 98% more pull requests. Nearly double the output at the code-generation stage.

AI-generated code produces 1.7x more issues per pull request than human-written code. Veracode’s 2026 State of Software Security report found that 82% of organizations now carry security debt, up 11% in a single year, with critical security debt surging 36%. The constraint was never writing code. It just did not matter until writing code got fast enough to expose everything downstream.
